Meet Wojtek: Shipfusion’s New Director of Sales

We’re always expanding and developing our wonderful team, so we are pleased to welcome our latest team member, Wojtek Gidzinski as our new Sales Director. Read our Q&A below to find out more about him.

1. What has your career this far looked like in the tech industry?

My career trajectory and journey have been defined by a couple of different themes, one being global sales and the other technology. I was fortunate enough to begin my career doing media sales and project management for products related to business intelligence, economic data, foreign investment attraction, and country promotion. These roles gave me the opportunity to live and work abroad, primarily in the Middle East, but also in Europe and Southeast Asia. I gained experience in sales, operational, and product roles, and was able to leverage that experience to launch my own business, The Prospect Group. The Prospect Group was the first native advertising investment relations platform in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The company scaled to 21 people, half of them in sales roles, with operations in 11 countries and partnerships with Bloomberg and Reuters. We were on the cutting edge of short-form video in the region during that time. After living and working abroad for 8 years, I came back to Canada and completed an MBA.

Upon returning to Canada, I became interested in the fintech space and joined Coinsquare, Canada’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, where I held a variety of roles in sales and product capacities. I launched commercial operations for two business lines; Wealth, a white-glove trading service targeting high-net-worth individuals and businesses, and Licensing, which was B2B SaaS tech sales, selling access to API and white label products to customers around the world. I grew out that business line to a multi-million dollar business over the first year. I finished my time at Coinsquare as a product manager, looking after licensing products as well as shipping other features on the platform. My experience has taught me to push forward disruption and business model innovation from a tech and global perspective. When the position became available at Shipfusion it seemed like a really good fit for my experience and interests. 

2. What plans do you see for Shipfusion? 

I see several opportunities here at Shipfusion to grow and expand the sales organization. Initially, I plan to institute new systems and processes to help the sales team keep pace with the rapid growth of the company and client base. I am excited to help the sales team achieve their goals and therefore help the company achieve its goals. Lastly, as someone who’s been involved in the tech sector, I am very well-tuned with what companies need and how sales support is essential to the overall growth goals of the company.

3. What makes Shipfusion Unique?
